How the Numbers Are Worked Out
Three numbers come out of the form above, and each is calculated a different way.
- Life Path comes from the date of birth. Each part of the date is reduced to a single digit, then those are added and reduced again.
- Expression comes from every letter of the full name, using the Pythagorean table where A to I are 1 to 9, J to R are 1 to 9 again, and S to Z are 1 to 8.
- Soul Urge uses only the vowels, and is said to describe what someone wants rather than what they show.
11, 22 and 33 are held rather than reduced. These are the master numbers, and in every conventional system they stop at that point instead of collapsing to 2, 4 and 6.
Take It for What It Is
Numerology is a belief system. There is no evidence that the letters in a name or the digits in a birth date predict anything about a relationship, and this page is not going to pretend otherwise.
